Cathodic protection is a way of preventing eroding of metal pipes, industrial systems or other infrastructure that is submerged in water or buried in the ground. Eroding is prevented by running a low-voltage electricity the metal (cathode) that needs protection. Windpower-charged battery banks perform greatly in this application.
